​Indian Embassy in Doha Hosts Ramadan Suhoor

The Embassy of India, Doha in collaboration with the Indian Business & Professionals’ Council (IBPC) and Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) hosted a Ramadan Suhoor gathering on March 19, 2025 at Al Messila Resort, Doha.  A Photo Exhibition titled “Investment Opportunities in India”  was also put up during the Suhoor.   The event was attended by over 250 guests that included prominent Qatari business leaders, Ambassadors, diplomats and members of the Indian community. On this occasion, Ambassador of India, Mr. Vipul, extended greetings for the holy month of Ramadan and highlighted the close people-to-people ties between India and Qatar.  He  recalled the landmark visit of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar to India on February 17-18, 2025 during which both countries elevated their relationship to strategic partnership.  Both sides also reaffirmed commitment for future growth of the partnership in different areas including trade, investment, energy, technology, innovation and sustainability. The Exhibition on investment opportunities in India showcased the success of the ‘Make in India’ programme of Government of India over the past decade and presented an overview of the opportunities available to the investors, especially in the emerging and high-growth sectors such as, including automobiles, aviation, chemicals, education, electronics, food processing, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, and semiconductors. The Exhibition also familiarized the attendees with the investor-friendly policies and economic incentives offered by India.

Qumra 2025 by Doha Film Institute to Nurture 18 Promising Projects from Qatar

Doha, Qatar; March 23, 2025: Doha Film Institute has announced a lineup of 18 projects by Qatari and Qatar-based filmmakers for the 11th edition of Qumra, underlining the remarkable continuing growth of the local film industry. The selection includes innovative narratives spanning features and shorts in various stages of development and production. The annual talent incubator for Arab and international cinema, Qumra 2025 will be held in-person in Doha from April 4 to 9 and online from April 12 to 14. Qatari projects are among 49 diverse projects by emerging filmmakers from 23 countries at this year’s edition. Qumra offers mentorship, skills development, and network-building opportunities to selected projects by first- and second-time filmmakers. Among the Qumra projects this year from Qatar, nine are by Qatari nationals who present compelling themes spanning multiple genres.
