DOMASCO GAC Motor had expanded its Qatar line-up with the arrival of the all-new GS4 Max, a midsize SUV positioned to deliver standout design, intelligent driving tech, and confident performance—without pushing beyond an accessible price point.
Design That Looked Premium
The GS4 Max had made an immediate impression with a bold, modern face. A criss-cross matrix front grille set the tone, complemented by Morning Star LED headlights and distinctive Rainbow taillights. Details such as flush-mounted hidden door handles and a connected rear-light signature added a clean, upmarket finish—while the 20-inch alloy wheels brought visual presence and dynamic road stance.
Performance With Real Composure
Under the hood, the GS4 Max had paired a 2.0TGDI turbocharged MegaWave Power engine with a 7WDCT wet-type transmission, delivering 0–100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. For Qatar’s mix of city commuting and weekend highway runs, the output had translated into quick responses, smooth shifts, and confident overtakes.
A key highlight had been the 6th-generation BorgWarner-Haldex All-Wheel Drive system, an intelligent electro-hydraulic setup designed to optimise traction and stability when conditions demanded more grip. Combined with the 20-inch setup, the GS4 Max felt planted in corners and composed across changing surfaces—delivering control without sacrificing ride comfort.
Cabin Comfort, Done Properly
Inside, the GS4 Max had focused on space and everyday usability. Zero-pressure seats with enhanced back and lumbar support had been designed for long drives, while ventilated front seats, rear-seat air outlets, and an extra-large panoramic sunroof elevated the cabin experience.
The central console had been sculpted with a premium look and practical storage, keeping the layout clean and intuitive. Tech features had included a large infotainment touchscreen, a 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, a fast 50W wireless charger, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A 6-speaker sound system rounded out the entertainment package.
Safety and Driver Assistance That Led Its Class
Safety had been one of the GS4 Max’s strongest selling points. An 8-airbag system—described as exclusive in its class—had been supported by a cabin structure built entirely from ultra-high–strength steel, backed by next-generation collision–safety engineering. Notably, the side curtain airbags weredesigned to maintain pressure for up to six seconds, providing reassurance in the event of an impact.
On the driver-assistance front, the GS4 Max had offered Level 2 autonomous technology with a comprehensive suite including FCW, AEB, LDW, LKA, IACC, IHBC, ACC, TJA, and ICA, alongside additional confidence features such as Lane Change Assist, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, and more.
Verdict
From its confident exterior styling to its thoughtfully appointed interior, the GAC GS4 Max presented itself as a well-rounded midsize SUV—balancing power, comfort, technology, and genuine safety depth. Most importantly, it had done so while staying compellingly priced for the segment.
